Well, I really hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I did. All through the year I try to be the kind of person that gives thanks. For the little things, the big things and even for the not-so-great things.
One of my all-time favorite TV shows was NCIS-New Orleans. I am re-watching the series as we speak. Ok, it’s mostly because Scott Bakula is still a hunk with adorable laugh lines but… Wait, what was I writing about? He-he-he. Its ok, my husband has full disclosure… and is more than gifted in the adorable laugh lines… plus he has gorgeous blue eyes… Wait, I forgot what I was writing about again.
Oh yes. The show. Well, they have this key phrase they use that is like their special signature phrase. Scott always says to the other characters on the show… “Go, learn things.”
If we stand still, nothing happens. If we go… the world opens for us to explore. If we go… we learn. What do we learn? Things! There’s that word again.
Things. Arguably the most versatile word in the English language. It fits in anytime you can’t remember the thing you want to remember. It holds the place for a myriad of… things. IE; Words, memories, ideas. “Remember that thing we did at the zoo?” “Hand me that thing please.” “Shake your groove thing!” (Ok, I know I’m dating myself here.)
So, when I say I’m thankful for things this past Thanksgiving, I mean soooooo much more than just material things.
What’s the thing that makes your day?
