Hello. Welcome back. So, speaking of back, (see what I did there? Hehe) I would like to go back to why I decided to start writing children’s books at the ripe old age of… mine. Did you really think I was going to give you a number? I haven’t told anyone in the last 65 years and I’m not going to start now, “wink-wink.”
But seriously, I want you to know this because I know there are a lot of “would be” writers out there who aren’t putting pen to paper! Come on, you don’t need anyone’s permission or approval. Do it for you because you have stories you need to get out! It doesn’t matter what age you are. It doesn’t matter if you were an English major in college… or if you even went to college.
All that matters is your heart. Do you want to share? Do you want to just document your life for posterity? (Ok so, big word. Guess what… I googled it.) With today’s technology helping us out we can do anything! You must know that’s a big deal when I start singing the praises of technology. I can’t even set my old Timex watch to the correct time. My knowledge of posting notes on my i-phone is sticking a post-it note to the case. (Ok, so I stole that one from my sister but it’s still true!)
What finally pushed me to getting all the stories out of my head and onto paper was the announcement that I was going to be a grandma! Nothing motivates me more than my babies and there are six of them now! I will write for them for as long as the good Lord gives me the ability.
I’m telling you; we get that fuzzy head feeling because there’s too much crowding our brains. Like Dumbledore did with his wand when he removed a memory from his brain and put it in the Pen sieve bowl thingy… do that! Un-cloud your brain and pull those stories into life.
